So relaxing and really enjoyed all the dogs and kids on bikes. Great family space! BR/shower area very clean BUT very out dated. Needs remodeled or torn down and build new BR/showers!!

We went to A Padres game, to Old Town and to the Gaslight district. In the park we went to the beach and had a great time and ate almost every day at the snack bar. It was enjoyable and convenient.

rv park experience

If screaming babies and unsurprised children riding bicycles and motorized scooters bothers you, then this is not the RV park for you. We were very concerned for safety. Most children paid no attention to moving vehicles. It was also uncomfortable to have to listen to music being blasted from the horseshoe court.

Fun for what it is

My family and I had a good time at Mission Bay RV Resort. Overall the campground felt safe and there was plenty to do for the kids. I didn't expect a true "camping" feel as I went in to it knowing that it was basically a parking lot for RV's. The staff was very friendly and helpful and my overall experience was positive except for a few minor things. The bathrooms were not horrible for campsite restrooms but I think they may benefit from being cleaned more frequently. The showers were a major point of contention for me because they do not appear to be cleaned on a daily basis and smelled of urine. I know they are in the bathroom and public bathrooms don't generally smell nice but these were the worst smelling showers I have ever experienced in a campground. (and my expectations are not exceptionally high) Don't let the smell of the bathrooms scare you off though. It is a fun place to take the kids and if your RV or trailer has a nicer shower situation than mine, you don't have to worry about it anyway. One positive of this campground is NO Dirt!! It was nice not to have to constantly sweep out dirt tracked in by kids and my feet stayed pretty clean all weekend and that is a big plus for me. The movie on the grass was a fun experience for the kids (on Saturdays) and the prices at the snack shack were very reasonable so we didn't mind indulging the kid's hankering for vacation ice cream.
