Great place

The thing I love about this place the most is the security. As a single woman, I feel secure in that the park is surrounded by nice tall fences with security gates so that the only ones allowed in are fellow campers or employees of the park. I only hope that with the vacancy of the permanent resident section, they will expand the RV park area maybe to have a section strictly for adults, especially the peninsula portion that is surrounded by water. I'd definitely pay extra for one of those water front sites. The employees are VERY friendly and VERY helpful!! It's my favorite RV park ever!!! I usually visit twice a year for a month each visit and love every minute of my stay!!!

Really OK

Arrived on a Monday, left on a Friday as scheduled. Big parking lot next to Mission Bay, trees but little real shade. Surrounded on two sides by abandoned very big mobile home park, creepy. Good security, small snack shack. Big construction work next to park. Plenty of walking space for dogs but not grass area in park or beach during day. As always, fron office ladies are great. Location is great for seeing/visiting San Diego, Mexico Traffic in area is pretty bad but freeway access is easy. Much better swimming areas nearby other than beach outside main gate of park. Laundry is small and old. Restrooms and showers are old, need work but useable. With such big summer crowds makes you wonder why park is not better maintained. Maybe like Campland the lease is running out. Who knows? Unless you want to go a few miles further south to Chula Vista KOA, This is your preferred option.

MOTHER'S DAY FIASCO

First, we arrived on Mother's Day around 3:00PM. The office was closed and no one available to explain to us what this RV Resort offers etc.. Once we arrived at guard gate, the guard just gave us a card with space # to put on our dash and a map of the resort--if you can call it a resort. The entire area around the 'resort' was filled with old, empty, trashed, many gutted, mobile or modular homes---a real eye sore!!! One side of the 'resort' did have the Bay and fortunately our space was a Bay View, so we could at least see water at a cost of $125.00 per night. The green areas were horrible. Our dog got dozens of burrs in her paws (as did several of our neighbors dogs). We spend a lot of time pulling burrs out of her hair. The laundry room (west side) was very dirty and had only 4 washers and one of those was 'out of order' the entire 5 nights we stayed. The ladies room (west side) had overhead lighting that needed to be replaced and frankly, it was not very clean. The office staff never once called to welcome us to the 'resort' which considering how disappointing it was, would have been a nice touch. This 'resort' was only about 1/4 full during out stay. Nothing to do, no restaurant and no activities at this 'resort'. Visible across the Bay was another RV Resort called, CAMPLAND BY THE BAY. We drove through it. VERY NICE! Front office staff wonderful, nice restaurant on-site; great green areas and common areas and lots to do for families including boat rentals on-site AND much easier access to the beach---NOT SO AT MISSION BAY RV RESORT. WOULD NEVER RETURN TO MISSION BAY RV RESORT---HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!!

The good,,, location on the bay, clean facility, warm showers, that flow.. the not so good,, yes they have wifi, and cable tv.. our cable tv, signal kept pixelating, all channels unwatchable.. the wifi, not enough for all the users the offer it too.. both very fixable, very easy, if the want.. I know, the Cable company will test the signal strength and solve the issue at every site, next day, if the rv park isn't bootlegging the signal.. this isn't low prices, here for an overnight, hence, we can't recommend and won't return. There is too many better options..
