Just a beautiful campground

We stayed for a long weekend in April 2013. This is a lovely and quiet campground. If you are looking for a place for kids and lots of activities, this is not for you. But if you are looking for a lovely place to just relax and enjoy the atmosphere, this is it. Yes as some other reviewers said, the owners are strict about the dogs being on their grass, but his grass areas are pristine, and that is how he is able to keep it that way. His grounds are well kept and nicely groomed. There is a very nice doggy park for your dog to go to the bathroom, and this worked well. We cannot wait to return again.

Beautiful, But Misleading

This campground is the most beautiful campground I've ever stayed in. Well manicured, well kept, just beautiful beyond belief. HOWEVER, they advertise WiFi access throughout the campground. This is true, but what they don't tell you is that you're limited to 150 meg a day and they block a lot of sites. Facebook, YouTube and pretty much any other media streaming site. I called and asked the owner, specifically, about the internet access before we drove all the way across the state and he didn't share any of that with me. That was dishonest. One of the things I like to do is share photos on Facebook, each night, of our trips and I was unable to do so. THEY NEED TO ADVERTISE THE LIMITATIONS OF THEIR INTERNET ACCESS. I teach online classes at two colleges and occasionally have to work while on vacation. Fortunately I didn't have anything pressing while on spring break, otherwise I would have had to travel down the valley and sit in a fast food restaurant to get my work done. A lot of people in the year 2013 depend on 24/7 internet access for many reasons and they need to say, up front, that you can only check your email and go to a few websites before you're cut off. The owner did bump up my access limit one night by 50 meg, but when I'm in a campground with 40 sites and only three other campers are there, I think he could have done a lot more than that. Still, blocking sites IS UNACCEPTABLE TO ME and because of that I will not return.

A little bit of heaven

This campground should be rated with 5 stars, at least. It is so very peaceful. It is close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and Mt. Mitchell so there are plenty of places to hike, but if you just need a place to relax there is no better place. It is clean and beautifully landscaped. Many of the sites are on a wonderful stream. When we want to escape the noisiness of life, we head to this facility which is only an hour from our home. While there is no cell phone service, there is limited wifi so that one doesn't have to be totally isolated if they so choose. The couple who own Mtn. Stream are a loving and caring couple who do all they can to make your stay enjoyable.
