Timber Ridge Resort is the sole privately-owned campground in Traverse City, Michigan. Located in Northwest Michigan, it is near Lake Michigan and sits at the base of East and West Grand Traverse bays and is only 10 miles from downtown Traverse City at highways 31 and 27. It is easy to reserve you campsite or cabin online now and know you will have a great place for your summer vacation.

To make your vacation special we have a heated swimming pool, miles of trails to hike, an 18-hole mini golf course, lighted volleyball courts and numerous outdoor camping games to play. Our lodge is always open for TV viewing, cards and other indoor games, as well as just sitting before a cozy fire. If you choose, take a bike ride, hike, rent one of our bikes or participate in one of our planned activities while you are here.

When you feel the urge to get out and sightsee, one of the first places to go is Michigan Legacy Art Park, in Thompsonville, about a 24-mile drive from Timber Ridge Resort. This special park features 35 larger-than-life works of art by Michigan artists depicting some of the history of our state. In Traverse City, the grownups will enjoy touring and a tasting at Brys Estate Vineyard and Winery.

Rented a cabin.....cabin cute but much smaller than I expected. Spiders in the cabin so not sure if they spray like they should for insects. Also, the cabin could have been cleaner. Definately not worth the $140 a night that we paid. Wish we would have just gotten a hotel for that price. Close to Traverse City so that was nice. Campground had nice facilities like pool, ice cream shop, camp store. Put Put golf course looked old and not taken care of at all.

We have stayed at Timber Ridge many times previously, but not in several years. The facility was clean, and staff were pleasant and helpful. The pool was not heated (as is advertised) and they were having problems which prevented the use of the pool on two of the days that we were there (hopefully this problem has been resolved). The mini golf course had not been maintained well and needed some work, and we had to ask for a score card and pencil, but we had fun playing anyways. Overall it was a good camping trip.
